Description
Lovage herb is also known as Maggi plant and Smellage. Dried Lovage is often used as a substitute for celery in a variety of recipes, such as soups and stews. In addition, the dusting powder can be used in syrups to make ‘celery soda’ or a lovage-infused sparkling beverage. The powder can be added to any sweet or savoury dish you would use celery in, including salads, soups, stews, frittatas, egg salad, and potato salad. As a ground herb it releases its flavours slowly, so it’s favoured in slow and long cooking applications. Which is why we recommend cooking it with roast potatoes and other seasonal vegetables where the stand alone herb can shine.
