Description
BoTree Salted Green Pepper 100g When people come to Kampot and taste the signature dish of the province, Kampot Pepper Crab, made with whole spikes of freshly plucked Kampot Pepper, they always come to ask us how they can get fresh green pepper to take home with them. Unfortunately, like a lettuce leaf, pepper berries do not remain good for more than a few days without preserving in some way or other. We harvest the berries early, preserve then in our Fleur de Sel and seal in the flavour in a vacuum pouch, this is all done within 2 hours of harvesting.… and they are amazing!
Great Taste 2020 : 1 Star Award: Simply Delicious
The taste is salty and piquant; you can use them in numerous ways to perk up dishes: in marinades for meat or fish; in most eggs dishes; fried rice or risotto; salads… the list is exhaustive and open to experimentation. We love to put them in a bowl and snack on them with a beer or glass of wine!
The berries do not keep their fresh green colour for long – perhaps a month in the vacuum pack or 1 week after opening if kept in the fridge, however they are delicious long after they have turned black in the air and have a usable life of around a year. To keep green for longer, put them in the freezer unopened until you want to use them.
